Dr. Lucas Casterton, DVM

 Dr. Casterton grew up in Queen Creek Arizona surrounded by farm animals. Growing up he showed pigs in 4-H until rodeo began to consume his time. He recently graduated from WSU with his DVM as well as got married in May to his beautiful wife Dr. Darryl Casterton. He is excited to return home to begin practicing veterinary medicine and is eager to learn. His passion is in lameness, medicine and reproduction. In his free time he enjoys riding colts, roping, golfing and most of all spending time with family.

 Franki is born and raised in queen creek az. She has gratefully had the opportunity to live and work all over the state and different parts of the country but home is where her heart is. She has years of experience in all aspects of the equine industry from training, riding, running barrels, roping, working as a sports medicine vet tech as well as a repro tech. Franki’s passion lies within horses no matter the aspect. “We can all learn from the love, commitment, and devotion shown by the dog and the horse” -Anthony Douglas Williams

Makenna Cockrum, Veterinary Technician

Maegan is originally from Apache Junction but has lived in San Tan Valley for the last 12 years. Maegan has an Associates Degree in Animal Science and hopes to one day become a Certified Veterinary Technician.  She Started working at Desert Mountain Equine in October 2017. Maegan's passion is going to the dunes and camping.

Makenna is originally from Queen Creek Arizona. She has a passion for equine behavior and enjoys training wild mustangs. Makenna's interests include horseback riding, literature and baking. 

Stephanie Romney, Receptionist

Stephanie Romney, Receptionist

Stephanie grew up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts and is new to Arizona.  She studied Equine Science at Utah State University and enjoys training horses and riders.  She has been riding horses for over twenty years and has experience in a little of everything, from dressage to colt starting.  Stephanie now resides in Mesa with her family and two horses and is excited to be a part of the Desert Mountain Equine team.
