Desert Mountain Equine originated from one of Dr. Meyer’s late friends. After attending Colorado State University, the goal for Dr. Meyer and his friend was to start High Desert Equine mobile trailer unit until, Dr. Meyer’s friend suddenly passed. Dr. Meyer then spent most of his veterinary career in Southern California working on the racetracks. While doing so he got to work on American Pharoh who was a Triple Crown Winner. In 2014 after the last breeders cup, he decided to move back home. He then decided to start a practice in the heart of Queen Creek, AZ named Desert Mountain Equine which was a dedication to Dr. Meyer’s late friend. After a couple years practicing out of his garage, Dr. Meyer purchased 10 acres and began to build the clinic. In 2018, the clinic was completed and started fully running. Dr. Meyer’s goal was to provide the best care in medicine for the equine athlete. Every day we try to provide the best care ranging from lameness to emergencies and everything in between. We want to thank all the equestrians who have and will continue to support us.
